Update on industrial action
As we’ve shared with you previously, the University and College Union (UCU) has confirmed that industrial action will continue over the summer term in the form of action short of a strike, including a marking and assessment boycott. This began on Thursday 20 April and coincides with the summer assessment and exams period.
We understand that you may have questions regarding the boycott and what impact this may have. Please be assured that working through this detail is our highest priority so that we can ensure we share clear information and guidance with you. Please continue to revise and prepare for exams and assessments and engage with learning and teaching as usual. We will share detailed guidance with you soon and in the meantime, we appreciate your continued patience.

Learning, teaching, research, and assessments
Additional study space available for Term 3
A variety of study spaces are available for you to use during Term 3. You can visit the Library study space page to find available study spaces in the Library building and Learning Grids and find out about the new Library Flexi-spaces.
We’re also making centrally timetabled teaching rooms available for individual or group study when they are not required for teaching. In key areas (Oculus, Faculty of Arts Building, Social Sciences corridor, Junction, and Gibbet Hill) where the Reserva display screens show as available (green) until the next booking, you can use the space for study. There’s no need to book these spaces, please use any teaching room that is available. |
Academic Integrity and avoiding plagiarism
As a member of our academic community here at Warwick, it is important that you work with a high level of academic integrity. Presenting someone else’s ideas or work as your own, or using work generated by artificial intelligence, can all be considered breaches of academic integrity. Find out more about academic integrity as you complete assessments and revise for exams. Check out resources and support available to you including advice sessions, moodles, and other tips, or have a chat with your personal tutor. |

Student Opportunity and Events
Volunteering opportunities
Looking to take a break from your studies, exams, assessments or research? Volunteering comes with many benefits including helping to change the lives of others. Keep active by leading children’s scouting sessions, help older people learn how to use technology, or relieve stress by helping with arts and crafts workshops. There are home-based opportunities too. Find out more about Warwick Volunteers and get involved!
Dementia Café
We’re looking for volunteers to help run the student-led Dementia Café in Leamington. Memory Lane café takes place on Wednesdays from 1pm-3pm at the Sydni Centre, providing a friendly space for older people with memory loss, to chat and undertake a range of activities. The idea is that connecting people to activities, groups, and services in their community will meet their practical, social, and emotional needs that affect their health and wellbeing. Find out more about the café and read the full news piece here. To volunteer, or for more information, email memorycafe@warwick.ac.uk. |

Support, safety and community
Wellbeing: Productivity and Procrastination
This week we are thinking about making the most of our time and being more productive. If getting started is something you are struggling with, you're not alone. Procrastination occurs when we are trying to avoid or put off a task. This could be down to feeling overwhelmed, or the fear of failure. Creating a routine or schedule that supports a balance between the necessary (work), routine (self-care), and something you enjoy or that helps you relax, can help you to feel more in control and support you in managing stress. See our self-help resources on procrastination, concentration, and relaxation for more.
Deaf Awareness Week
Annually in May, Deaf Awareness Week is celebrated. Read about D/deaf awareness, and see resources and details about the support that is available at Warwick.
