Looking back at 2022/23
With thanks to all of you, our staff and student colleagues across the University, this has been a busy and productive year across the areas we work with you on. From ITLR and student surveys, to TEF and curriculum management, we have summed up some of the highlights from 2022/23.

Institutional Teaching and Learning Review (ITLR)
Students contributing to the Institutional Teaching and Learning Review benefit from points towards the new Warwick Award. As part of the award, students reflected on their work through ITLR and how it enhanced their employability skills. Read their testimonies to see how student panellists and departmental student leads found the experience and how it has prepared them for life after Warwick.
The ITLR team have been working to evaluate how the review process has functioned. They have run focus groups and collected feedback from elements of the process, and a survey will be available shortly. But they still want to hear from the people who made the review work.
They are organising in-depth interviews to gather feedback. These are being arranged around stakeholder types - so they are looking for people in academic departments and professional services teams, and panel members in particular. Interviews will last for no longer than an hour and will be held online.
If you would like to take part, please fill in this form and the team will be in touch to arrange the interview around your availability.
Industrial action
All of the guidance on industrial action and assessment can be found in one place on the EPQ website.
As part of this, we have now published Postgraduate Taught Policy Interpretation of Regulation 41 under Marking and Assessment Boycott 2022/23.
Meet Education Policy and Quality
Meet Gabriella, whose work includes support and guidance to Social Sciences colleagues on matters relating to University regulations and education policy. Find out about her life in Italy prior to starting at Warwick, the varied projects she's currently working on, and the dystopian novel that's her go-to read...
Take a look back and reaquaint yourself with all of the members of the EPQ team we've featured in the Education Bulletin this year. |
News, Updates and Projects
Due to Department workloads and the requirement for capacity to be made available elsewhere, a number of adjustments have been made to annual assessement related information requests. Full details are available here, but in summary:
- Feedback turnaround report - optional but not required
- Academic misconduct - reduced information
- Exit Awards - flexible submission to reduce collation workload
- Department responses to external examiner reports - informally extended deadline
Information about changes to assessment policy, and core and required modules in student information, is now available here.
Since our last update on the Academic Governance Review, the level of interest and engagement shown for the review has been heartening - so the remit for the review has been extended in terms of timeline and ambition. Find out more about the next steps.
Thank you to everyone who has already provided us with some invaluable feedback via our survey. There's still time to let us know your thoughts. After evolving organically over the years, we know there is room for improvement in the content and navigation of our website, and we are looking for feedback from those who use the site as we work to make those improvements.
