Hello Pgt

Welcome to this week's newsletter! We introduced a new self-certification policy at the beginning of the academic year (2020/21) and have made some improvements to the process of requesting a self-certification extension. Read on to find out more.

February is LGBTUA+ History Month so make sure that you check the upcoming events and discussions. Explore this week’s Wellbeing content theme, Productivity and Self Care, the available opportunities and events, as well as tips on staying safe.

WATE & WAPTE nominations are still open, so don’t forget to nominate your personal tutor, a member of staff or a postgraduate who teaches.

New process for submitting your self-certification extension requests

We introduced a new self-certification policy at the beginning of the academic year (2020/21) and have made some improvements to the process of requesting a self-certification extension. To make the process easier, you will be able to submit your requests on Tabula (underneath the Personal Circumstances tab) or on myWBS. Your departments will be turning this functionality on over the next few days and will inform you when it is ready to use. You can also continue to request extensions on specific assignments (specific extension) using your department’s normal extension procedure.

View our FAQs about extensions including guidance on how to submit a self-certification extension request on Tabula.

Twice weekly Lateral Flow Testing

If you are regularly on campus for face to face teaching or are using study spaces for individual learning, don’t forget to get a Lateral Flow Test twice a week at The Slate. This will help break chains of Covid-19 transmission and keep our community safe. Book your asymptomatic tests.

Government evaluation of Lateral Flow Antigen Testing Devices

From Monday 22 February, anyone attending a Lateral Flow Device test at the Slate will be asked to take part in a service evaluation of Lateral Flow Antigen Testing Devices as part of the Department of Health and Social Care approach to quality assurance. We expect this to last for a maximum of two weeks so that enough samples are collected. Find out more and view the FAQs.
