Hi everyone, and welcome to your Week 8 newsletter. We've got a bumper edition for you today, with plenty of exciting events happening next week as part of EUTOPIA Languages Week, Green Week, National Student Money Week and International Women's Day. Green Week


Next week is Green Week, and you can get involved in a variety of events and activities to raise awareness of the importance of sustainability and encourage positive change. Join us next week, with events ranging from in-depth talks through to circularity fashion initiatives and a bug hotel making session!

Do you want to learn about sustainability and find out more about what’s being done to improve the University’s environmental performance? Join the community of more than 1,000 Green Champions on campus. Sign up here.


TeamWork 2024 

Don’t miss this opportunity to apply for TeamWork: a four-week, part-time, online international experience programme. You’ll collaborate on a multi-disciplinary project with students from Warwick and other top global universities, supported by an organisation mentor and gain valuable work experience, improve your career confidence and develop your professional skills. The project takes place for 10 hours per week, between 24 June and 19 July. Apply here before 28 March.


Public Involvement Assistant – paid summer internship

If you think people in Coventry should have a voice in tackling health inequalities, then this internship is for you. You’ll be working for the Coventry Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC), hosted by Coventry City Council. Find out more and apply by midday on 8 March.

National Student Money Week

Next week is National Student Money Week. Visit the Student Funding team in the first floor foyer of the Library on 7 March, 10am-2pm, where we will be joined by West Midlands Police who you can talk to about protecting yourselves from financial scams. We Fight Fraud is also holding a webinar on 6 March, 11:15am-12pm to talk about what you can do to stay safe, and what you should do if you are approached or think you have been a victim of fraud.

Warwick Women’s Night In is taking place on 7 March from 8-10pm at the Sports and Wellness hub. It’s a great opportunity for women and non-binary students to participate in a range of beginner-friendly activities and connect with the University community in a relaxed and fun environment.

Zarah Sultana, MP for Coventry South, will talk about her experiences of making her voice heard - specifically as a woman of both faith and colour in politics. This event is taking place at the Students' Union on 7 March.

On Friday 8 March, Sarah Shalgosky (curator, Mead Gallery) will take guests on a tour through the Phantom Sculpture show, highlighting her favourite pieces by women artists including Mona Hatoum and Sarah Lucas.
