Hello Student,

Your Spring vacation newsletter

Hi everyone, and welcome to the Spring vacation edition of your student newsletter. We hope you’re having a restful term break and enjoying time spent with friends and family. If you’re sticking around campus or the local area, check out our Easter pages to see the range of events and activities that are happening on campus.

Please also read on for important updates to the Skilled Worker visa salary requirements for international students, and an opportunity to get involved in our next International Student Roundtable event.

Latest news and updates

Skilled Worker visa changes from 4 April 2024

Further to our email to all international students in December 2023, a Statement of Change to the immigration rules was published on 14 March, with the change coming into effect from 4 April 2024

In relation to the Skilled Worker visa salary requirements, we are pleased to see that the Government has retained the current provision of Tradeable Point E (for new entrants). This means that students (or those holding a Graduate route visa) switching to a Skilled Worker visa will be eligible for a lower salary requirement. It is currently set at 70% of the job ‘going rate’ or 80% of the minimum salary threshold (whichever is higher).

This means a minimum salary requirement of £30,960 (based on 37.5 working hours per week). Read further information, including other changes that may affect you, on our Immigration News page.

Join the Warwick Student Panel

The Warwick Student Panel is a community-based platform which allows you to take part in online activities, or attend focus groups, to share your thoughts and help us shape the University for the future. In return, there are lots of opportunities to win prize draws or receive incentives for taking part. It’s your last chance to join the Panel this academic year, so register today.

Your WorkReady Toolkit

If you’re looking for work experience for the Easter break, the WorkReady Toolkit can help you at any stage of finding, completing or reflecting on work experience. You can also apply for the Work Experience Bursary if the experience is self-sourced, unpaid and is taking place in the Easter (and/or Summer) holidays.
