Hello, and welcome back to your Doctoral College newsletter. We hope that you are having a restful break. In this edition, we are inviting you to participate in our upcoming PGR focus groups, and to showcase your research to a diverse audience at the Festival of Postgraduate Research.

Vacation

There are still activities happening around the campus during the Spring vacation. You can find out about the latest events, opening hours, travel, and available support during the vacation period by clicking here. Grab a drink and some food at the new Eatwise Test Kitchen and our restaurants on campus.

Cinema

Warwick Arts Centre's cinema is open across the vacation, with great titles to discover, including Dev Patel's directorial debut, Monkey Man (from Friday 5 April), and Alex Garland's adrenaline-fueled thrill ride, Civil War (from Friday 19 April), plus so much more. Get involved


PGR Focus Groups

To help shape the events and support we offer to PGRs, we would like your feedback on the format, timing, and accessibility of our community-building events. This includes the upcoming Festival of Postgraduate Research, PGR careers events, and welcome events for new PGRs. To be a part of the online focus group, please register for one of two time slots on either: Tuesday 30 April, 1:30-2:30pm or Thursday 2 May, 6-7pm.

Understanding Self

This is an invitation to participate in a survey for a research project titled ‘Understanding Self’. The objective of this study is to understand experiences with neurodivergence and neurotypicality in higher education establishments and highlight any barriers faced to getting support. Before you start the questionnaire, please take a moment to read and agree to the Participant Information Leaflet.

Job Opportunity: Festival of Postgraduate Research
                                                                                         
If you are looking for a temporary role, then this is a great opportunity for you to join the Doctoral College team, to deliver our Festival of Postgraduate Research on 23 May. The start date for this role is from 20 May and you’ll help to bring PGRs together, providing a range of opportunities to learn from and connect with each other as well as experts in different fields. We have restarted our PGR lunches, which are your chance to get together with other PGRs at Warwick over a light lunch and refreshments. Come and meet colleagues from the Doctoral College and ask us any questions you may have. Sign up on our website.

Postgraduate Research

The deadline for submissions for our Festival of Postgraduate Research has now been extended to 5 April. It's a great opportunity to showcase your research. For any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact us at doctoralcollege@warwick.ac.uk.
