Welcome back to Warwick and to this week's newsletter. We hope that you enjoyed your spring break and that you feel energised and ready for Term 3.

Research, Teaching and Learning

Coursera at Warwick

We’ve collaborated with Coursera to offer all students access to free online courses from many of the top institutions in the world. Academics at Warwick have carefully selected a range of courses that will enable you to expand your knowledge in an area of interest while developing new skills. You can enrol on an online course and an unlimited number of 1-2 hour Guided Projects for free.

Find out how to sign up and pick from the recommended courses or you can search for available courses in your areas of interest. Whether you're interested in Creative Design, Philosophy, Machine Learning, Emerging Technologies, Project Management, Fashion or AI, you'll be able to find a course to enrol on.

Active Bystander Course

Be part of a community that actively builds safer and more inclusive spaces by joining the Active Bystander Intervention course in Term 3. The course consists of five online sessions of two hours each, held over five consecutive weeks. You will receive HEAR accreditation and a certificate of participation.

Wellbeing

Wellbeing Support - Managing Exams and Deadlines

This week's theme is about managing exams and deadlines. Wellbeing Support Services run masterclasses on managing exams and deadlines every day Monday to Thursday. There's also a variety of self-help resources and skill sessions for you to pick from. Find out more.

The SU also have a range of resources and tips to help you plan your revision and stay on track.

West Midlands Bus on Demand

As part of our transport and mobility strategy to provide you with a wider range of sustainable travel options, and in partnership with Transport for West Midlands, we have launched an exciting new service called the 'West Midlands Bus on Demand'. It's a cross between a taxi and a bus. After you insert a pickup and drop-off location, you’ll be matched with other passengers heading in the same direction. 

Students' Union Summer Elections 2021, Union Awards and Transforming Education Awards

Nominations for the SU's Summer Elections are now open! Nominate yourself until 12.00 on Friday 7 May.

The Union Awards are back! Nominate an individual or student group to help us celebrate the good that's come from this year by Friday 7 May.

Celebrate the staff members who have gone above and beyond this year to support you. Nominate them for a Transforming Education Award.

Make sure that you regularly check the MyWarwick Calendar, Warwick Presents and the MyWarwick app, as well as the Global Connections Community and the SU Events Calendar. If those events don't work for you, you can create your own events in the student-led events channel!

Researcher Development Programme

The Researcher Development Online Programme is back for the summer term with a great programme designed especially for this time of year and with the transitions out of lockdown in mind.

Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program has launched and is designed to support world-class postdoctoral researchers. The fellowship provides $70,000 per year for two years. The program is open to both Canadian and international researchers who have recently completed a PhD, PhD- equivalent, or health professional degree. Funded doctoral students have the opportunity to request a funded extension to their stipend. Find out more.

Microsoft Word: Formatting Assignments and Dissertations

About to start writing up your dissertation, thesis or group assignment? This workshop will teach you all the best ways to use Microsoft Word to format and present long documents. Learn how to best present your writing and how to save precious time doing it. This workshop will be delivered as a webinar via Microsoft Teams on Tuesday 4 May at 13.30 and on Monday 17 May at 15.00. .

If you’re still looking for somewhere to live for the next academic year, Warwick Accommodation have University-managed off campus accommodation available for you to book.
