Hello Jemima
You may be aware that the University has offered those eligible students who have a University managed on campus contract the opportunity to request a rent waiver.
As a gesture of goodwill, the University is now in a position to extend this offer to those students who were unable to access their University managed off campus accommodation during the same period.
Please note that there is no partial rent waiver option and if you have accessed your accommodation, even if it was for only one night, after 9 January but prior to 13 February then you are not eligible to apply for options 1-6 of the rent waiver. You are also only able to apply for rent waivers within the stated options and so you must select the appropriate option that is reflective of your personal circumstance. For example, if you returned to your accommodation on 14 February but left again by 24 April, you can apply for option 1 and 7.
If you were living in your University managed off campus property at any time during the period stated in any of the options above, you remain liable for your accommodation fees, in accordance with the terms of your Tenancy Agreement.
The University will not be offering further waivers for the period after 14 May 2021.
In all cases, you remain liable for all other costs associated with the property, for example utility fees; these are not covered in the credit. Any rent waiver credited to your account does not alter the terms of, or your obligations to your Tenancy Agreement.
Any application for a rent waiver that is found to be false may be referred to the student disciplinary team.
How do I apply for the extended rent waiver?
Please read the terms and conditions and FAQs very carefully and if you are eligible for one of the options, you may apply via the our web form by the deadline 13 May 2021.
We have tried to anticipate any questions you may have and have answered them in the FAQs; while you may have specific queries, please check the FAQs before making direct contact as you could find your question is already answered.
We expect a large volume of requests for the rent waiver and would appreciate your patience while we process the credits; our aim is to apply the credits by the end of term 3.
Best wishes,
Warwick Accommodation
