Student Opportunity and Events

New vaccine trial

There are several Covid-19 vaccines, both approved and in development. Each one uses a different technology to prevent people from getting sick after being infected by the virus. Valneva’s Phase 3 clinical trial is the latest vaccine study running in the UK and they are seeking volunteers to be recruited to test a new vaccine candidate against Covid-19. Vaccinations will be carried out in the Research Treatment Centre at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, on Saturdays during May and June. Volunteers will receive two doses of the vaccine four weeks apart, and are required to attend up to eight follow-up visits over 13 months. Volunteers will receive compensation. Harpal Randeva from Warwick Medical School is Principal Investigator on the trial. Find out more.
