Your Week 6 Newsletter

Hi everyone, and welcome back to your student newsletter. In this week’s edition, we’re excited to share our upcoming events in June, including Pride at Warwick, the return of our giant Inflatable Fun Days, and Outdoor Film Screenings, where you can vote for your favourite film to watch under the stars. Remember to take study breaks and get involved!

Demonstrations
on campus

Warwick Stands with Palestine, a coalition of student and staff organisations, is currently demonstrating on campus and maintaining an encampment on the lawns outside Senate House. The University is managing this demonstration in line with its legal duty to protect freedom of speech. You can read the latest updates here.

Following the Migration Advisory Committee’s (MAC) review of the Graduate Route visa (post-study work visa for international students), we have received confirmation from the Home Office that the Government has accepted the MAC's recommendation to retain the Graduate Route visa in its current form. Registration for the July 2024 Graduation ceremonies is now open. If you are completing your studies at Warwick this summer, please follow the instructions on this page to register by Thursday 20 June. We advise that you should register promptly to secure your place in the ceremony, if you are looking to attend. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

Are you finishing your studies this year? We have created a set of new resources to help you navigate life after university. This includes continued career support, housing advice, shipping and storage options, access to buildings and IT after your course finishes, plus guidance on visa pathways and reverse cultural shock for international students.

If you haven’t already, this is your opportunity to have your say on your student experience so far this year, including the connections you’ve built, support you’ve received, your wellbeing, living costs, and key SU services. You could win up to £100 in vouchers for sharing your thoughts.

Maskulinities workshop

Our Maskulinities workshops support male students to champion change in your communities, offer a space to reflect on commonly accepted aspects of masculinity, and explore the impact on you and others around you. These workshops count towards the Warwick Award. You can register to take part in the next workshop on Thursday 6 June.

With headliners from RuPaul's Drag Race UK gracing the stage, join our free Pride Festival on 17 June for a day of fun and frivolities. We'll have food vans, a rodeo bull, fairground activities, a photobooth, and performances from Cheddar Gorgeous, Black Peppa and more. Everyone is welcome, so feel free to bring friends and family along.

Join the Library’s webinars on a date that suits you, to find out how to import or add references to your library, generate citations and bibliographies, and more. The webinars are delivered via Teams with alternating sessions for PC and Mac users.
