All PGR students will need to produce PDF/A format when submitting your final thesis electronically from 17 June, please read on for more guidance. The Global Talent visa is for talented academics, researchers, and specialists in science, humanities, engineering, the arts, and digital technology. This visa doesn't require sponsorship but is applied for in two stages; obtaining endorsement from a UK listed body; and once endorsed, subject to checks, you can apply for the visa. Final Thesis Submissions
From Monday 17 June, PGRs are required to submit the final electronic version of their thesis in PDF/A format for the purpose of long-term digital preservation, replacing hard bound copies. Guidance on converting to PDF/A format is available on the Doctoral College website and the Guide to Examinations for Higher Degrees by Research and Library Declaration and Deposit form will also be updated.
Apply for a Pathway ECR Fellowship
The Pathway Early Career Fellowship scheme supports Warwick doctoral candidates who self-identify as being of Black heritage, in the transition phase between their doctoral and independent postdoctoral research careers. Applications for fellowships starting in 2024-25 are now open. The deadline for applications, including submission of academic references is midnight BST on 7 July.
Journal of PGR Pedagogic Practice (JPPP): Call for Papers 2024
We are delighted to announce the fourth call for papers for the JPPP, on the theme of GTAs Re/De-constructing the Learning and Teaching Space, piece by piece. The deadline for submitting your abstract is 8 July. For this theme, we welcome contributions on wellbeing, innovation, the impact of AI, crossing disciplinary boundaries, overcoming challenges and professional learning. The JPPP has become a unique publishing space for postgraduate researchers who teach, to discuss their teaching practice in a scholarly context and gives PGRs a first taste of publishing about pedagogy.
Job opportunity: PhD Life Blogger
The Doctoral College are looking for a postgraduate research student to write posts for the PhD Life Blog. Your posts will provide a candid reflection into your life at Warwick and help other PhD students through your insights. The PhD Life blog covers all aspects of PhD journeys and has a global audience of researchers, academics and prospective PhD candidates. If you are interested in this opportunity, you can find out more here.

There is still time to apply for up to £300 with the PGR Networking Fund. The fund is available for bringing PGRs together to educate, stimulate, support, and build an inclusive and supportive PGR community at Warwick. If you're interested in finding out more about the fund, visit this page.

Postgraduate researchers and early career researchers are invited to a celebration event on Tuesday 2 July, with lunch included at Scarman Conference Centre. Take the opportunity to network, meet fellow researchers and listen as applicants to the Society & Culture Spotlight writing competition present their work.
