Welcome to this week's newsletter. In line with our commitment to continue to keep you informed of continuous improvements to safety and wellbeing at Warwick, we’ve shared an update on our progress this academic year.

Read on to see updated information on the use of face coverings on campus following the easing of some of the restrictions in the UK.

We believe that working in partnership is the most effective way of finding long-term solutions. Ultimately, we all share the same determination to tackle sexual misconduct and to ensure all members of our community feel safe. We’re able to share a number of updates on our progress this academic year.

Wellbeing Support - Work Life Balance and Studying Remotely

This week's theme is all about work life balance and studying remotely. There's a variety of self-help resources and skill sessions for you to pick from. Find out more.

Twice-weekly asymptomatic testing

Twice-weekly testing is still important to ensure we keep our community safe. Find out how to book or collect your asymptomatic tests. You can now collect a home testing kit (containing seven lateral flow tests) from the Slate, Gibbet Hill or Wellesbourne (Prince Phillip Building).

We know the ongoing situation is extremely distressing for many members of our community. Find out how to get support.

Supporting safe return to campus: Warwick People

Hear from some of the university staff who have been preparing to welcome more members of our community back to campus in a safe and supported way.

Earn rewards with 'Choose your way Warwick'

As part of our transport and mobility strategy, and in partnership with Transport for West Midlands, we have launched our Choose your way Warwick app. You can log in with your university credentials and start earning rewards like Amazon or Currys/PC World vouchers, for using either active or sustainable transport to, from and around campus.

Dining-in is back

Dining-in is back! All open Retail outlets are now offering both a takeaway and dine-in service. Check the Warwick Retail opening times to find out what's open and when.

SU Summer Elections Results

The results are in! Find out who you voted to become Warwick SU’s next Association Execs and Student Trustees. Congratulations to those elected and thank you to everyone who voted.

Esports at Warwick

Game on! Warwick is launching a new esports centre in September that will bring skills and new opportunities to campus and the wider community. Find out more.

Resonate Festival

To celebrate Coventry’s year as UK City of Culture, the University of Warwick – a principal partner of City of Culture – is hosting The Resonate Festival.

We're bringing a 12-month programme of inspiring and interactive events for all ages to spark ideas, curiosity and creativity in Coventry and Warwickshire. From 'Transporting the City' on 24 May, to 'Sustainability in the Community' and 'Invention and Mindfulness' on 27 May there are plenty of events next week for you to join. Find out more.

Pint of Science 2021 - Creative Reactions Digital Gallery

Creative Reactions is the science-meets-arts branch of Pint of Science to showcase research creatively; this year you can explore all the Creative Reactions artworks in the form of a virtual gallery during May and June and you can also view the full exhibition catalogue online.

EFCO and GRP Video Competition

Submit a short video by 28 May exploring how we may work, live and thrive in the post-pandemic future for the chance to win up to £700 prize money!

Productivity and the Futures of Work GRP Essay Competition 2020

Submit an essay using your experience of the pandemic. The winning candidates of each category will receive £500! Submission deadline 30 June.

City of Culture - GENERATE Festival Call-Out 

Interested in showcasing your creativity during the City of Culture year? Apply to perform at GENERATE Festival, a new multi-weekend event coming to Coventry this summer.

Researcher Development Online summer term programme

The Researcher Development Online summer term programme is live, designed especially for this time of year and with the transition out of lockdown in mind. Sessions during the week, evenings and for the first time on Saturdays. See the full timetable for details.

Pint & PhD

Join us on the last Wednesday of every month to hear about PhD Research at Warwick. In our next session, we'll have presentations on ‘The Future of Museums’ and also ‘Rethinking Business Cases for Digital Investment’. You'll have opportunities to ask questions to the presenters and get to know other PGRs at Warwick. For more information visit our website.

The OSCAs recognise and celebrate the outstanding contributions of our students that not only excel academically, but also find the time to campaign for good causes, fundraise, start a small business, and work with local charities. Hear from some of our 2020 Winners, find out more about the OSCAs and nominate a fellow student by Sunday 23 May.
