Hello Student
Well, what a year. I want to say thank you to you all. Your resilience, good humour and determination to keep going have been fantastic to witness.
This academic year has been one of the best for open dialogue between you and your university. You shared concerns about online assessments, the availability of study spaces and their motivational benefits, and missing out on social and co-curricular opportunities during the pandemic. Working together with you and your representatives, we’ve been able to offer more mock exams, open up more alternative online and physical study spaces, and test and improve the social activities on offer to make them as fun and relevant as possible during this extraordinary year. I hope you were able to enjoy our wonderful Warwick Presents activities, whether you tried breaking out of our virtual escape rooms or completing our car park crazy golf course.
We had over 2,200 responses to our Term 3 survey on the teaching, learning and assessment experience this academic year - thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We’ll be using this latest feedback to understand what works well for you and what could be adapted for the next academic year.
I’d also like to say thank you for playing your part in supporting University and local public health measures. Please keep your celebrations safe and if you’re going to your home address over the vacation, protect your family and friends by taking advantage of enhanced Covid testing on campus before you go. Remember that all adults can now book a Covid-19 vaccination whether they’re registered with a GP or not. Find out more in our FAQs.
To our graduating class of 2021, I look forward to celebrating on social media with you at our virtual results celebration on 12 July, when you’ll receive your results. You can share your celebrations at #WarwickGrad - and celebrate you should - you’ve worked hard in difficult circumstances, against the odds. Well done.
As you move on to your next challenge, there are many ways in which we can support you. Stay in touch with our fantastic graduates across the world, benefit from academic and commercial connections, take advantage of free careers guidance from Careers and Skills, try e-mentoring, and extend your learning through access to academic journals and our own Library. To keep connected simply update your contact details in student records to start your journey as a Warwick Alum.
You can also follow our development and keep us up to date with what you’re doing through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Thank you again for all you have achieved and contributed to our community during your time here. I look forward to reuniting at a graduation ceremony when possible.
