Your Week 10 Newsletter

Hi everyone! Welcome to your final student newsletter of Term 1. Now that we’ve reached the end of term, we’re sure you’ll be looking forward to a well-deserved festive break. This week brings some big news as we reveal the results of the preferred concepts you voted for as part of the Brand Evolution Project, as well as a new coffee offering on campus.

Remember, support is still available over the break - see our opening hours. We’ll be back in January 2025, but for now, your Student Communications team wishes those who are celebrating a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Brand Evolution Project:
The results are in!

Thank you for sharing your feedback during the market testing phase of the Brand Evolution Project. The results found that 61% of staff, students and alumni preferred the same concept. Read more about the insights from the survey.

New coffee launching

We're switching our coffee offering on campus from Starbucks to our new supplier, Bridge Coffee Roasters. We’ve made this decision based on your feedback and our desire to offer coffee that aligns with our commitments to people and the planet. Available from 6 January 2025!

International student support

We want to make sure our international community has access to support resources and important updates. 
  • Staying on or around campus this Christmas? Warwick Sport is offering a free 7-day Gym and Swim Pass to boost your wellbeing, from 20 - 29 December. Claim your pass by 11 December to be eligible for the offer.
  • Are you thinking about exploring the UK over the winter break? We have put together a handy guide for popular places to visit in the UK to save money when travelling.
  • Is your passport linked to your e-Visa? If your BRP expires on 31 December, make sure you have registered and checked that your passport is linked to your e-Visa. This is important if you wish to travel overseas from the UK this Christmas. Support is available at the Student Opportunity Hub (Senate House) until 2pm on 23 December. Further help and guidance can be found on our FAQ page.
  • Hear from international student, Modhurima, about her volunteering journey and a recent invitation to the House of Lords for an International Student Celebration event. Read Modhurima's blog and find out how you could make an impact on the University and local community.

Christmas jobs and volunteering opportunities

Are you looking for work over the Christmas period? There are plenty of opportunities available with Unitemps, from seasonal, part-time and full-time roles. There are also some great volunteering opportunities available to give back to the community around the campus and local area.

Gift the arts

For the arts lover in your life, Warwick Arts Centre's digital gift voucher is the ideal present. Our vouchers last for a year and can be spent on any of our cinema screenings or live events. Get your gift voucher in time for Christmas here

Staying safe over the winter break

Whether you're heading home for the break or staying nearby, your safety on and off campus is important. Be sure to know who to reach out to if you ever need assistance, and visit our emergency contacts page

If you’re looking to learn more about postgraduate study at Warwick, join the online webinar led by current students and staff from 9am-11:45am on 12 December, for an overview of postgraduate study, careers guidance, and support with your application. Register your place.

Leadership course:
18 January

 In partnership with Beyond Equality, this course has been designed for students in leadership roles at Warwick (such as club and society execs and ambassadors), with topics including communication, consent culture, and more. The course is CPD certified and contributes points towards the Warwick Award. Find out more and book your place.
