Transformative Learning

Warwick Education Conference

At this year's conference we hosted a drop-in triage session, welcoming staff to share teaching challenges, ask questions, and receive tailored advice.

We also delivered a highlighting our recent collaboration with students and Echo360. Thanks to everyone who joined us! You can add your digital learning queries and comments to our Padlet and we will contact you to continue the conversation.

CGI Cyber Escape

Members of the Digital Learning team took part in CGI's Cyber Escape Experience - an escape room style activity where users can learn about online security risks in an engaging, interactive way. With the recent cyber attacks affecting major retailers, it was a fun but timely reminder of the importance of cyber security.

Transforming Language Exams: Digital Delivery

Yihua Huang, Faculty Advisor for Social Sciences was a featured speaker at the Association for Learning Technology (ALT) event, Managing Digital Assessments: Administration and Implementation. Yihua co-delivered the presentation “Transitioning Language Exams to Online Delivery in Higher Education,” sharing insights from the university's journey from paper-based to digital formats within a higher education language course.

Supporting Innovation in Mental Health

Dr. Nathan Hodson and Dr. Simon Williamson in the Rapidmooc podcast studio at Westwood Campus

We recently supported Warwick Medical School and Warwick Innovation with their development of a mobile app designed to help individuals on therapy waiting lists. We gave guidance and technical support to Dr. Nathan Hodson and Dr. Simon Williamson, helping them to produce a series of educational podcasts at the Rapidmooc Studio on Westwood Campus with the aim of empowering users to prepare and get the most from therapy sessions.

Collaborating with AI

 Rethinking Your Relationship with AI

AI isn't just a tool, it's a teammate. Sunil Chudasama, Faculty Consultant for Social Sciences considers how treating AI as a collaborative partner can unlock deeper creativity, sharper insights, and greater productivity in your work.

Digital Tools Spotlight: Mahara

The word 'mahara' in lowercase letters on the left side, with a stylized ampersand symbol to its left. To the right, there are six illustrated people standing and sitting in a row.

Mahara is one of the many digital tools we support, offering all our students and staff access to a personal ePortfolio. It's a powerful platform for tracking progress over time, allowing users to document learning, showcase achievements, and reflect on their development. This video highlights the key benefits of using an ePortfolio.

Across the university, Mahara is already making an impact. The School of Engineering has used it to replace traditional paper placement logbooks, while the Centre for Teacher Education uses it to document professional development. We offer plenty of guidance and support to help you get started and make the most of everything Mahara has to offer.
