Campus and Community

Drink spiking

Following a number of high profile cases across the UK over recent weeks, we know many members of our community are understandably concerned about drink spiking. Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our community, and we will support any police efforts to identify anyone involved in any alleged drink spiking offence. Read our community statement which includes routes to report instances of drink spiking, details of how to get support and resources to equip our community to challenge this and other unacceptable behaviours.

Safety and wellbeing: continuous improvement

Every member of our community has the right to feel safe and supported at Warwick and our policy on any kind of harassment is clear – it will not be tolerated. Together as a community, we have made significant progress over the last two years to improve safety and support for students and will continue to do so. as a result of ongoing continuous improvement reviews, and engagement with our community.

Black History Month

Congratulations to alumna and former SU sabbatical officer Tiana Holgate, who has been named in the Top 150 Future Leaders list for 2020-21 by Powerful Media! Hear from Tiana as she shares her personal take on leadership.

Disposing of waste in your local area

Living off-campus? It's really important to dispose of waste sustainably and responsibly in your local area. Double-check what can go in your general waste green bins in Coventry or grey bins in Leamington Spa. Double-check what can go in your blue-lidded recycling bins in Coventry or red recycling boxes and bags in Leamington. Make best use of your collection dates whether you're in Coventry or Leamington and only put rubbish out the night before collection.

If you have access to a car, book a slot in advance to take any surplus waste to Coventry Reuse and Recycling Centre (the tip) or the Princes Drive Recycling Centre (the tip) in Leamington. As a local resident, you can book a bulky waste collection from Coventry City Council or Warwick District Council for any large items you need to dispose of like furniture or fridge/freezers.
