Read on for opportunities to volunteer to support teaching in schools in Ghana, South Africa and Tanzania, or work with IATL as a Co-creation Officer. Sign up for Warwick Presents events taking place in the last weeks of term. Come down to the SU on Thursday to chat with wellbeing professionals on University Mental Health Day. And take part in our first annual LGBTQUIA+ student experience survey.

We stand with Ukraine - supporting our community

We know that this is a deeply distressing and concerning time for members of our community. If you're concerned or need help you can access a wide range of support via the Wellbeing Portal, your Personal Tutor, the ChaplaincyStudent Funding, the Students’ Union Advice Centre, and, if you’ve experienced or witnessed bullying, harassment, discrimination, hate crime and/or sexual misconduct, confidential support is available via Report and Support.

Candlelit vigil for Ukraine at Coventry Cathedral
A vigil for Ukraine will be held at Coventry Cathedral tomorrow (Wednesday 2 March). All are welcome at the New Cathedral for a time of silent prayer and reflection from 8:30pm.

LGBTQUIA+ Student Experience Survey

The first annual LGBTQUIA+ Student Experience Survey has been launched by the Queering University programme in pursuit of a better understanding of the needs and experiences of LGBTQUIA+ students at Warwick. The responses will be used to improve the student experience for LGBTQUIA+ students at Warwick. Find about more about the survey which is a project of the Trans & Queer Pedagogies WIHEA Learning Circle.

Take part in a survey which aims to better understand gender-based violence at universities

Following on from Sexual Violence Awareness Week, we’re supporting UniSafe, a project created to better understand the prevalence of gender-based violence in research performing organisations and universities. Whether you've experienced gender-based violence or not, your input will contribute to the largest research project of its kind in Europe. Find out more and take part in the anonymous UniSAFE survey.

Wellbeing

University Mental Health Day - today 3 March

Come along to the Students' Union Atrium today from 12pm until 3pm to have a chat with Wellbeing Professionals and peers. We'll be offering tips for your wellbeing and mental health, talking about the impact of alcohol and drugs on your wellbeing, sharing advice on how to 'Study Happy' and there'll also be refreshments and giveaways available. Find out more about the event and read our tips on looking after your wellbeing whilst at uni.

Student Opportunity and Events

Work with IATL as a Student Co-Creation Officer

IATL is recruiting three undergraduate students to join our team of Co-Creation Officers. Co-Creation Officers like Law student Gervaise support and develop IATL's work, contributing to cultures of collaboration and identifying opportunities to develop Co-Creation within the department and the wider University. Find more information and apply by tomorrow, Tuesday 1 March.

Warwick in Africa - volunteer for school placements in summer 2022!

Warwick in Africa partners with schools in Ghana, South Africa and Tanzania to support the teaching of English and Mathematics - and you can be a part of the partnership this year by applying to become a school volunteer in the summer of 2022! You'll provide assistance in the classroom with the teaching of Mathematics or English in secondary level schools, observe and learn from your professional teaching colleagues whilst contributing your own ideas, and bring energy and enthusiasm to the classroom. Find out more about this amazing opportunity!
