Hello Student

Welcome back to Warwick. It's great to weclome you back to what seems like our most 'normal' term yet since 2019! I hope you enjoyed your Easter break and are ready to start the new term.

Many of you will be taking exams and assessments in term 3. As a useful starting point, I’d like to direct you to this online resource which includes details of academic and wellbeing support, FAQs explaining how online and in-person assessments will work, and guidance and resources to help you prepare for what term 3 holds for you.

Our campus is a great place to study or revise and to support you in this, we have many options, whether you’re working alone or in a group. The study space tile on MyWarwick app shows you the availability in each of our learning grids, spaces within the Library (which is open 24 hours a day) and breakout areas such as University House atrium. We have accessible study rooms available in the Library and University House to students registered with Disability Services.

There are also social study spaces in the Oculus, Faculty of Arts Building, Warwick Arts Centre and the Science Concourse. We have increased study space too, with flexi-spaces in the Library, and we’re also opening up teaching rooms in the Faculty of Arts Building, Social Sciences corridor, Oculus and the Humanities ground floor.

We have lots going on to allow you to take a break from studies. Take part in Warwick Presents exhibitions, an inflatable obstacle course and big screen events on the piazza. You can also now register your interest for FAB Fest, the 20 May opening of our fantastic new Faculty of Arts Building, and a celebration of the arts at Warwick, featuring VR gaming, Bridgerton dance workshops, Roman cookery shows and more.

In July, in addition to degree congregations for this summer’s graduates, we’ll be hosting graduation celebrations for our graduates who missed the chance to celebrate the completion of their degrees during the pandemic. What a celebration that will be! And at the end of this term and into the summer vacation, we’ll be hosting a Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games athletes’ village, with close to 2,000 competitors making use of our campus facilities. You’ll start to see preparations around campus from mid-June as we get ready to welcome competitors – and we’ll be in touch if any of the preparations affect you. Find out more about what the Games mean for our local communities and how you can get close to the action in Coventry, Leamington and Warwick.

I'd like to wish you all the very best of luck for the weeks ahead. A valuable source of information is your student portal, MyWarwick, and the MyWarwick app where we'll keep you up to date with news and more key updates throughout the term. If you're a finalist, share your views on your time at Warwick with us in the National Student Survey - the survey is open until 30 April and you'll be entered into a prize draw to win shopping vouchers of £500 and £20.

With best wishes,
