Wellbeing

Managing stress, anxiety and change

We have all experienced a lot of change over the last couple of years, and while change is a part of life and can be managed well at times, it can also be very unsettling. Change can be planned and anticipated with excitement, such as finishing university or starting a new job, but it can still be difficult and can bring on anxiety. If feeling stressed and anxious is affecting your day-to-day life, then we have lots of support for you including self-help pages on stress and anxiety. These contain evidence-based strategies that can help you feel calmer and more in control. For changes, the Managing Change Masterclass has lots of information, tips and support. To help build your skills to manage these feelings, you may want to sign up for our Feeling Good and Functioning Well masterclass.

If you would like to speak to someone in the Wellbeing team, please access our Wellbeing Portal where you can join a virtual queue for a brief consultation with an adviser, Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm.

Reminder to enter the Warwick Sustainability Challenge

Registrations for the Warwick Sustainability Challenge close on 5 June. Why not sign up and secure your team’s place and be in with a chance to win a first place prize of £400! The winning idea will also be considered for implementation by the University and/or Coventry City Council, while runners up will receive £200 and £100. The Challenge aims to co-create possible solutions to an environmental issue of your choice, with a more holistic approach to sustainability in higher education. There will be two workshops in June and you will be coached through design thinking tools that will help you explore your challenge in an innovative way. Good luck to those who enter!

The Warwick Award Pilot – it’s not too late to join!

There’s still time be part of the pilot for the brand-new Warwick Award, from Student Opportunity! The Award, which launches fully in the Autumn, is free for all undergraduate, taught postgraduate, exchange, and degree apprenticeship students, and will recognise and showcase the employability skills you’re building from everything you do here at Warwick. By being part of the pilot, you can get a head start on earning points towards the Award, and help share valuable feedback to shape its future. Find out more and sign up for the Warwick Award pilot here.
