Hello International,

It's week 8 and there's plenty to get involved in! Apply to spend your summer teaching in Africa, apply to the HarperCollins Author Academy, get involved in cycling training, and find part-time work. We appreciate that news of the forthcoming strike action on Thursday 24 November, Friday 25 November and Wednesday 30 November 2022 may be concerning for you. Warwick in Africa Volunteer Student Teacher Placements - Applications Now Open

Want to spend your summer teaching in Africa? Warwick in Africa is a multifaceted programme consisting of three core elements: a Student Volunteering programme, a Lead Teacher Support programme and a Teacher Support programme. We're looking for you to provide assistance in the classroom with the teaching of Mathematics or English in secondary-level schools in Ghana, South Africa or Tanzania for a period of up to 6 weeks during Summer 2023.  Find more information and apply here by midnight on Sunday 4 December.

HarperCollins Author Academy Applications are Open!

If you have a story to tell, HarperCollins has opened applications to their free Academy Autumn 2022 for writers from underrepresented ethnic backgrounds. If you are interested in a career in publishing or becoming a published author, please find out more and apply here. The deadline is Friday 25 November!

Cycle training

The University has partnered with Sustrans as part of a Community Engagement Programme to provide a number of cycle training and skills sessions for the local communities! The sessions will be hosted on main campus from November 2022 until March 2023. You can book two weeks in advance and there are two different levels to choose from. Find out more and book.

Fusion Sports Bar, located on the first floor of Rootes building, is the home of live sports on campus. Fusion will be showing the 2022 World Cup live from now until 18 December. Find the full fixture schedule here.

Celebrating Academic Integrity

Academic integrity means committing to honesty in academic work, giving credit where we've used others' ideas and being proud of our own achievements. Take at a look at our handy explainer, which is full of advice and resources. You can also attend drop-in sessions at the Library Training Room (2nd floor of the Library) on avoiding plagiarism on Tuesday 22 November 10am-11am, Wednesday 23 November 3pm-4pm, or Thursday 24 November 11am-12pm. Our Academic Support Librarians will be there to help. You can also read a blog piece by a fellow student on maintaining academic integrity.

Sensory Refresh

Join us on Friday 25 November in the Teaching Grid (Library Floor 2) between 1pm-3pm for an interactive session with free refreshments and activities designed to help you explore your sensory profile. Free and open to all! No booking required.
