Hello Jemima
Covid Mitigation Package of Education Measures for 2020/21
Following on from last week's update, we are now in a position to give you more information about the arrangements to help mitigate the immediate impact of the national lockdown announcement on all students during term 2.
We have worked together with the Students’ Union on putting the mitigation package together and aligned ourselves to the agreed set of principles across our Russell Group peer institutions to support you. The resulting package of mitigation support is specific to the structure of Warwick degrees and the volume of assessment undertaken by students.
Details of the Mitigation Package can be found on the Teaching, Learning and Assessments page.
There are quite a few mitigation arrangements we have put in place, noting that you all may be affected by the pandemic in different ways. Please do read the provided information carefully to ensure you do not miss out on mitigations available.
You will also be aware from communications in the last few days that some deadlines have been extended by a week. The details of this are listed again on the page for ease of future reference.
We will continue to work with the Students’ Union and your department on supporting you with your studies. We are particularly aware that there are some specific concerns for students who have not had an opportunity to undertake examinations in recent years (in school or at university) and will be reviewing feedback from your department and student representatives to ensure those students have the support they need.
Your department will contact you through the usual means, and you are encouraged to contact your Personal Tutor or the relevant departmental contact, if you have specific questions not already covered in the guidance provided here or by your department.
Building access
Given the reduced number of students and staff on campus during lockdown, building access has changed. For Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught students, University card access levels have been updated and access will only be for those who are permitted to return to face to face teaching.
Find out more about building access.
The Library
From Wednesday 13 January there will be no individual access to the main collections, study spaces or other facilities in the Library. The Library will reintroduce the Click and Collect service. The online access to resources and services, including enquiries and support, will continue.
If it is essential you come onto main campus for individual study we have study spaces in the PG Hub (available to postgraduate students), BioMed Grid (available to Medical students) and Rootes Grid (for undergraduate and other current students). Full details will be added to the Library webpages tomorrow and we'll provide more details in Thursday's newsletter.
Best wishes,
Warwick Student Communications Team
