The Alan Turing Enrichment Scheme
Now in its eighth year, the Enrichment Scheme is designed for students looking to enhance and broaden their research within the Turing's community. The application deadline for this year's scheme is 18 January and you can find out more here.
Introduction to Research Data Science
This intensive, hands-on course between 13-24 February is instructed by members of the Turing’s Research Engineering Group aiming to bring learners in touch with day-to-day research data science practices. The course is open to anyone interested in learning about, or using, data science methods in research. The deadline to apply is 22 January. Find out more here.
Research Refresh
Join us for Research Refresh in the Wolfson Research Exchange on Floor 3 of the Library on Thursdays, 10:30am-12pm. This event will give you the opportunity to take a break from your work, chat with other researchers, and enjoy some coffee, cakes, snacks and card games.
PG Tips
Visit the Library’s PG Hub in Junction on Tuesday 17 January, 3pm-4pm, for our regular PG Tips networking drop-in. This is an opportunity to ask questions on all aspects of postgraduate life, whether that's how to balance your study time and your social life, or simply where to find the best coffee or food on campus. Wellbeing: Feeling good and functioning well masterclass
Your wellbeing should always be a priority, make sure you take the time out that you need for yourself so that you can excel in other areas. Why not take part in our Feeling Good and Functioning Well masterclass happening on a range of dates, that will provide you with the strategies and tips you can use to improve your wellbeing? Or watch the masterclass video in your own time.
Safety during the winter months
It's important during the darker evenings to keep yourself and your valuables safe. Check out these tips from our Community Safety team, with suggestions including always locking your room door on campus, or the front and rear doors of off-campus accommodation, even when there is someone at home or if you're only leaving for a short period of time, and stick to well-lit routes, especially at night. For advice and safety news and alerts from West Midlands Police, sign up for WM Now. There will also be a crime prevention stall run by West Midlands Police on Monday 23 January, 10am-1pm at Cannon Park Shopping Centre.

We understand that accommodation is a key part of your student experience.
