Hello Pgt

This week we are highlighting some upcoming learning, teaching, and research opportunities such as the On Track seminar exploring healthy habits, a Mindfulness session, and PG Tips. Read on for more updates including on Industrial Action, and don't forget to nominate your teachers or personal tutor for a WATE or WAPTE.

Industrial action update

UCU has now announced the additional dates of strike action throughout February and March. We appreciate this may be concerning for you and are committed to keeping you informed. We have FAQs on this page that may help answer your questions, and we will continue to update them over the coming weeks. If you need more specific information, please refer to your academic department.

Support, safety and community

Wellbeing: Managing Change

Change can be scary or exciting, planned or unexpected, and can create emotions which at times may cause us to feel anxious, angry, or sad. To support you with this, the Managing Change Masterclass video has lots of information, tips, and support. If you would like to speak to someone at Wellbeing, please drop by the Wellbeing and Student Support reception on the ground floor at Senate House, Monday-Friday between 10am-3pm. Alternatively, access the Wellbeing Portal for an online appointment.

Taking care around ponds and lakes

You're reminded to take great care around the ponds and lakes on campus, not to venture onto ice under any circumstances and to take action and call for help if needed if you see others being reckless near water or attempting to go onto any ice. Call Community Safety if you're on campus or 999 in an emergency off campus. There is a risk of falling into the extremely cold water, which could lead to cold water shock and serious injury. See more information.

The e-scooter trial scheme on campus has come to an end

We regret to inform you that the e-scooters are no longer operational as of Monday 23 January, and have been removed from campus. Those with credit on their account can claim a refund directly from VOI and a message updating all registered users on campus will be made via the VOI app.

West Midlands Bus on Demand is expanding

We are pleased to announce that the West Midlands Bus on Demand has extended its operating area and time, this now operates 7 days a week. It will operate in the surrounding areas of the University of Warwick, including Coventry, Kenilworth, Leamington Spa, Meriden, Warwick Parkway railway station, University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire, and Wellesbourne campus. You can find the full information and times here.

Best wishes,
