Hello Test

It's a new week and there are lots of events and opportunities for you to get involved in. First, see Industrial Action FAQs and details about support if you have been affected in any way by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

You can attend a World Kindness Week arts session, LGBTQUIA+ History Month events, Pancake Mardi Gras, and a Meet the Professionals online event. Apply for paid roles, residential modules in Venice and Brussels, and volunteering opportunities. We also have a Gender Expression Fund if you would like gender-affirming items of up to £50.

Industrial action

A reminder that we have FAQs on this page if you have any questions about industrial action. To ensure that you're aware of where you may see UCU members picketing on strike action days on campus, there is an FAQ including this information. If you have specific questions, please refer to your academic department.

Message about Turkey and Syria earthquake

Following on from our message in Friday’s newsletter, we want to remind you about the support available should you be affected in any way. The Chaplaincy has prayer resources and extra tea lights available in the Chapel.

You’ll develop valuable skills, and each opportunity is flexible with different levels of commitment. Get in touch with the Warwick Volunteers team to get involved.

World Kindness Week

Not only is it Valentine's Day tomorrow, but it's World Kindness Week, what better time to spread the love? Come along to Warwick Arts Centre this Wednesday 15 February between 1:30pm-4pm and decorate a postcard with your affirmations of gratitude and self-love, and we will send it to you two months later. This is a reminder that as important as it is to be kind to others, we must also be kind to ourselves.

Meet the Professionals: Careers in Campaigning, Politics, Think Tanks and Policy Research

This series of events are your chance to find out what it's like to work in a specific job sector with talks from employers, experts and Warwick graduates. Wellbeing: Self-care

This week we are thinking about the importance of self-care. The pressures of academic life can mean that we forget to maintain our self-care; concentrating on the Foundations of Wellbeing can help to create a balance that allows you to maintain focus and increase productivity, whilst also focusing on your self-care. Visit our self-help pages on self-care, relaxation, time management, and work-life balance to find what works for you.

Changing your preferred name on your University card

If you make an amendment to your preferred name in eVision, a new University card will now be ready to be printed which reflects your preferred name initial. Cards can be collected from University House or Senate House reception.

Best wishes,
